At least 18 people killed in lightning strikes in 9 districts

At least 18 people were killed and 31 others were injured in separate lightning strike incidents in nine districts across the country on Wednesday (May 9).
In two upazilas of Sunamganj, two farmers- Jewel Ahmad (16), son of Abdur Rahim, and Alamgir Mia (22), son of Ishaq Ali- were killed in separate lightning strikes.
In Kazipur upazila of Sirajganj, a farmer Samtullah, 50 and a teenage boy Shakil Mia, 15, were killed in lightning strikes.
In fulchari upazila of Gaibandha, a farmer Mahor Ali, 35, were killed as lightning struck him.
In Daulatpur upazila of Manikganj, a farmer Yakub Ali, 45, and a school student Sharaful Islam Ontor were killed in separate lightning strikes.
In Tanore upazila of Rajshahi, two people- Sohag Ali, 18 and Ansar Ali, 30, were killed in lightning strike.
In Mymensingh sadar upazila, a youth Alaluddin was killed in lighting strike.
In Habiganj, A total of six people including farmers were killed in separate lighting strikes.
In Kishoreganj, two people- Shahjalal, 25 and Dipali Rani Barman, 38- were killed as lighting struck them in separate places.
In Narayanganj, one person was killed after being struck by lighting.
