Militancy now under control: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said police have been capable to reduce militancy from our country.
Militancy now under control for their skillful contribution, the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister said this while delivering speech before the probationary police officers of 35th BCS batch at Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA) in Sardah of Rajshahi.
The prime minister paid her tributes to police who martyred during Bangladesh liberation war of 1971.
She also remembered Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, four leaders and freedom fighters.
Bangladesh is one of the largest contributors to UN peacekeeping operations. Bangladesh Police has contributed in UN Missions, she said.
The Prime Minister said “ We have Police Staff College.
New police camp is being established in different upazilas. Tourist police, navy police were established. Guard and protection police will be established.”
“ We have introduced emergency police service ‘999’. We want our countrymen will get proper service from law enfocement agencies. Police have to control drug smuggling also.”
Sheikh Hasina reached Rajshahi today (Wednesday) and inspected the march-past of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and took their salute at Bangladesh Police Academy.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Inspector General of Police Dr Jabed Patwary and other high civil, military and police officials attended the ceremony.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to return Dhaka in the afternoon.
