Hasina, Modi to inaugurate Bangladesh Bhaban today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will inaugurate Bangladesh Bhaban at Visva-Bharati University at Santiniketan in West Bengal today.
The Prime Minister reached Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on a two-day official visit this mornig.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the premier and her entourage members landed at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata at 9.25 am.
Minister for Urban Development of West Bengal Government Firhad Hakim and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Moazzem Ali received the Prime Minister at the airport.
Earlier, the flight carrying the Prime Minister left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8.55 am.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and Prime Minister’s four Advisers on Political, Economic, Foreign and Energy affairs are accompanying the Prime Minister.
After the reception at the airport, Sheikh Hasina will go to Shantiniketan near Bolpur in Birbhum district of West Bengal, approximately 180 km north off Kolkata by a helicopter.
Vice Chancellor of Visva Bharati University Professor Sabuj Koli Sen will receive the prime minister at Shantiniketan, while Narendra Modi will welcome her later at Rabindra Bhaban of the university.
Then the Bangladesh prime minister will attend the convocation ceremony of the Bisva Bharati University as the guest of honour.
Visva Bharati University Chancellor and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benarjee will also join the convocation.
Later, Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi will jointly open the newly constructed Bangladesh Bhaban at Shantiniketan.
After the inaugural ceremony of Bangladesh Bhaban, Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi will hold a meeting there. Issues of bilateral interest and international concerns are expected to come up for discussion in the talks.
From Shantiniketan, the Bangladesh prime minister will return to Kolkata and will visit "Jorasanko Thakur Bari", the residence of Poet Rabindranath Tagore.
In the evening, Kolkata Chamber leaders are scheduled to call on Sheikh Hasina at her place of residence at Hotel Taj Bengal Kolkata.
On Saturday, the prime minister will go to Kazi Nazrul University at Asansol where she would be conferred with the honorary DLitt Degree at a special convocation there.
Sheikh Hasina will deliver a speech at the ceremony and hand over gold medals among the meritorious students.
The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and education minister will also address the function.
From there, Sheikh Hasina will return to Kolkata in the afternoon and will visit Netaji Shubhas Bose Museum
The prime minister will return home on Saturday night.
