37th BCS final results published, 1,314 enlisted for jobs

A total of 1,314 candidates have been recommended for different cadres of civil service in the 37th Bangladesh Civil Service examinations, according to officials.
Public Service Commission (PSC), the body that hires civil servants, published the final results on Tuesday after a special meeting at its office in the capital.
PSC chairman Muhammed Sadique confirmed this.
He said though in 37th BCS circular the number of cadres was mentioned as 1,226, the commission finally recommended 1,314 candidates for different cadres.
Of them, 465 cadidates are enlisted as general cadres, 272 as assistant surgeons, 51 as dental surgeons, 316 for other categories and 210 for education cadres.
Also, a total of 3,454 candidates are kept on the waiting list for non-cadres posts. If posts are available, they will be hired for non-cadre posts.
The 37th BCS written exams began on 11 February last year and concluded on 23 May.
A total of 5,379 candidates came out successful in the written examinations.
On 30 September 2016, the BCS preliminary test for BCS 37th batch was held.
A total of 243,476 candidates participated in the examination. Of them, 8,523 candidates passed the preliminary examination.
