Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the Special Security Force (SSF) personnel to remain alert so that she does not get isolated from the mass people for whom she does politics.
"I work for people… if we get detached from the people for whom we do politics then our lives will become meaningless," she said.
Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing a function marking the 32th founding anniversary of SSF at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Sunday.
She asked the SSF personnel to remain cautious so that her contact with the general people is not hindered as they are the centre of all power of the republic.
"As we’re the public representatives, we’ve to go to people after every five years… we’re accountable to people, you’ve to remain alert so that we can continue our intensive communication with the masses," she said.
In this connection, Sheikh Hasina asked them also to maintain their professionalism, discipline and rules.
"In the politics we do here, people are the nucleus of all power; our politics is just for people, my aim is to keep the people of the country in good condition …we’ll have to ensure their all sorts of welfare," she said.
The Prime Minister asked the SSF members to coordinate between the desires of people and discharging of their duties.
Earlier, Director General of SSF Major General Md Shafiqur Rahman delivered the welcome address.
