Housewife gang-raped in Chattogram

A housewife has allegedly been gang-raped by four culprits at Goalpara area in the port city early Saturday.

Police arrested three of the accused – Md Imran, 30, son of Abdul Halim, Md Shahjahan, 32, son of late Zamir Hossain, and Kaisar Halim Munna, 18, son of Abdul Halim of the same area.

They along with a fourth individual who continues to avoid arrest, intercepted the housewife as she got out of her residence at dawn on Saturday, following a domestic dispute with her husband.   and violated her by turn, second-officer of Karnaphuli Police Station Md Mostafa said quoting locals.

Eventually the victim’s husband rescued her from the spot and filed a case with the police station accusing the four.

The victim has been admitted to One Stop Service of Chittagong Medical College Hospital for medical check-ups added Mostafa. “Search is on to find out the other accused Nurul Amin, 27 who went into hiding soon after the occurrence”.
