Online portals circulating ‘fake news’ of PM Hasina: PMO

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) today said some online portals are circulating false and motivated news about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in connection with the ongoing students’ movement demanding safety on road.

The PMO issued a press release undersigned by PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim in this regard this afternoon.

A vested quarter is spreading baseless and motivated news in different online portals in a bid to shed a negative light on the premier, the release read.

The news are being spread in the social media in order to confuse the students participating in the protests demanding road safety, according to the release.

The PMO has urged all to stay cautious regarding such fake news, it added.
