People pay tribute to Roma Chowdhury

The body of Roma Chowdhuryhas been taken to Chattogram Central Shaheed Minar so the public can pay its tribute to the writer and Liberation War Heroine (Birangana).
Students from different education institutions, political and cultural activists have presented floral wreaths to pay their respects to Roma since her body was brought to the Chattogram Central Shaheed Minar around 11:00 am on Sunday.
The Chattogram administration will give Roma a Guard of Honour after the people have paid their tributes.
Roma Chowdhury will be laid to rest at her ancestral home in Boalkhali, said Alauddin Khokon, her long-time companion and publisher of her books.
The 79-year-old Chowdhury had been admitted to the hospital in January due to her diabetes, high blood pressure and various other health complications.
Her condition deteriorated on Sunday night and she was put on life support at the ICU where she breathed her last at 4:40 am.
