Hasina unveils 21-point AL election manifesto

Prime Minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina is unveiling the party’s 21-point manifesto with the theme ‘Bangladesh on the march towards prosperity’ ahead of the 11th national election slated for December 30.
She started to announce the election manifesto at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel at 10 am.
The two main pledges Awami League included in its manifesto are ’My Village-My Town’ and ‘Power of Youth-progress of Bangladesh.’
According to sources at AL sub-committee on its election manifesto, Awami League will release a pro-youth election manifesto giving priority to balanced development of the country, quality education and employment opportunities for youth.
According to the leaders, Awami League is focusing on the new voters in this election as they can bring about a major change in the election.
The Awami League sub-committee on its election manifesto, headed by its Presidium member AbdurRazzaque, was assigned to finalise its draft manifesto encompassing issues relating to economic growth and human resource development as its plans to return to power for the third consecutive time.
Other members of the committee included Prime Minister’s Economic Affairs Adviser MashiurRahman, PM’s Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam, Premier University Vice-Chancellor (VC) and Awami League Adviser DrAnupamSen, former Dhaka University VC AAMS ArefinSiddique and Awami League Organising Secretary MohibulHasanChowdhuryNowfel.
The source also said the main slogan of the ruling party for the 11th general election is ‘Bangladesh’s road to prosperity’. Its previous slogan was ‘Bangladesh is moving forward’.
