Jaya Ahsan wins Best Actor at Zee Cine Awards

The actor plays Padma, a Bangladeshi widow, who falls in love with an Indian businessman in Kaushik Ganguly’s 'Bisorjon'.
Jaya Ahsan won best actor (female) as Kaushik Ganguly’s “Bisorjon” won best picture at the Zee Cine Awards in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Tamil director Ashwiny Tiwari presented the award to Jaya.
In April, the film won the Bangla Film Award at the National Film Awards in India.
Jaya said:“Zee Cine Awards is a prestigious prize and I am thrilled. I am grateful to the film’s director Kaushik Ganguly. I also want to thank all the team members of this film. Pray for me so I can make better movies and make Bangladesh proud.”
Jaya plays Padma, a Bangladeshi widow, who falls in love with an Indian businessman.
She won the National Film Award in Bangladesh for Guerrilla (2011), Chorabali (2012) and Zero Degree (2015). The actor will star in films directed by Srijit Mukherji, Anjan Dutt and Sayantan Mukherjee in 2018.
