In response to the alleged rape and murder of a 28-year-old Bangladeshi woman in Bengaluru, India, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has organized a protest rally in Dhaka. The demonstration is scheduled to commence at 3 PM today in front of the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University.

The victim's body was discovered on Friday near Kalkere Lake in Bengaluru's Ramamurthy area. Authorities suspect that she was sexually assaulted before being killed. Reports indicate that the woman had been residing in India for six years without legal documentation, while her husband held a valid passport and had entered the country on a medical visa. The family, including their three children, lived in North Bengaluru, where the woman was employed as a domestic worker.

On Thursday, the victim informed a colleague that she had personal errands to attend to and might return home late. When she failed to come back, her husband filed a missing person report at the Ramamurthy Nagar police station. The following morning, her body was found with severe head injuries. Investigators believe she may have willingly gone to an isolated location to meet someone she knew. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Division) Devaraj, along with forensic experts and a canine unit, visited the scene to gather further evidence.

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, known for its active stance against various forms of injustice, has called for today's rally to demand justice for the victim and to raise awareness about violence against women. The organization has been involved in several recent protests addressing issues of discrimination and violence.

This incident has sparked significant outrage in both Bangladesh and India, highlighting concerns over the safety of migrant workers and the prevalence of gender-based violence. Authorities in Bengaluru are under pressure to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
