MoU signed to enhance efficiency on English language

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday (Thursday) between the Access to Information (a2i) programme and the British Council to improve English language skills using ICT-based innovative methods.
Project Director of the a2i programme of Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Kabir Bin Anwar and Director of British Council Barbara Wickham signed the MoU on behalf of the respective organizations at a simple signing ceremony at the PMO here.
Under the MoU, the a2i programme and British Council will work together to create efficient workforce with good English communication skills through using ICT and other innovative tools.
As per the MoU, British council will extend their supports to arrange international seminars, workshop and various programme s to promote English language in the country.
At the function, the speakers said under the existing educational system, students only achieve English proficiency in reading and writing but they need to improve speaking and listening skills as well for their better access to job markets.
They described English language as a technology and said students must be good at reading, writing, speaking and listening English to acquire knowledge as well as to build career in different professions.
